Job Description: Sr. Software Engineer

Position

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our development team. The candidate must have a proven track record delivering successful products. The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of the various aspects of Web-based J2EE applications design, Web 2.0 technologies, OO development and testing. You will work closely with Product Management and other Engineering teams located here and abroad. This position reports to the VP of Products.

Responsibilities

• Develop collaborative Web 2.0 applications using Java, Ajax and other Web -based technologies
• Work on Agile product teams and develop designs for new product features
• Act as a mentor to junior developers and conduct design and code reviews
• Work closely with QA and assist with unit tests and system level test plans
• Identify and present new technologies and approaches to the team

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Java, OOD, Web-based applications and the J2EE framework.
• At least 5+ years of experience in J2EE.
• Good understanding of SQL relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL).
• Experience with Web technologies such as JSPs, XML, SOAP, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, CSS, and AJAX.
• Experience working with J2EE application servers in production environments
• Familiarity with formal design processes and tools (UML, RUP).
• Experience with development tools such as version control, java development and build tools, and database modeling tools.
• BS in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with Agile Development processes.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
